Response to Chapter 6: Digital Technologies in the Classroom

Question: Based on the information in chapter 6, would you prefer to teach in a classroom that had more or less digital technologies? Why or why not?

Based on the info given in chapter six I myself would prefer to teach in a classroom that had more digital technology. Things such as cameras or video cameras would be a fun and helpful way to teach and add creativity in my lessons. I would definately monitor the use of the devices in my class rooms because this sort of technology can be used in many different ways, was in which could be harmful. So keeping an eye on my students would be an nessecity. We could uses cameras to video record, take snap shots, and even create visual projects or slideshows. I think digital technology would be an aset to myclass room.

Chapter 11: Audiovisual Technologies
For both audio and visual technologies, identify one traditional and one emerging technology from the book, and explain how you could potentially use all four devices in the classroom. Post your responses on your blog page you created for this class.

Audio Technologies: traditional- the talking book- I could use this in a class room where my students cant read yet or are learning to read, or even when they can read a talking cassette adds drsmstic effects to the characters and gives students an easy read. Emerging-internet radio- I could use this by bringing in live broadcasts from around the world into the classroom.

Visual Technologies: Traditional-broadcast video- i could use this in my room to watch educational tv programs like cbs. Emerging- lime web cams- This can be used have a pen pale over sees and to learn new languages or customs.

Hello my name is Desiree Young. I am a freshman at Bowling Green State University but i am a unique freshman because I already have my associates degree. I am a early childhood education major but i am thinking of switching to middle childhood. I love to have a great time , party, dance and make people smile.  I absolutely love it here at BG and am looking forward to a great first year.
